You’ve chosen the perfect kitchen cabinetry and you know you want cabinet hardware – but which hardware? Choosing hardware can be very hard for many people because there are so many options. When it comes to kitchen cabinet hardware, there is a multitude of sizes, styles, colors, finishes, and more! The perfect cabinet hardware can significantly impact the overall visual effect achieved in your kitchen so it is a physically small but very important decision. Fortunately, there are a few guiding principles that can help you determine which cabinet hardware is best for your kitchen.

• When in doubt, let the existing metal accents in the room influence the metal choice for your cabinet hardware. What material is your kitchen faucet, appliances, range hood, lighting, or other accents in the room made of? While you certainly don’t have to have all matching materials, it is one of the easier ways to narrow your decision.
• Choose whether you want to have all knobs, all pulls, or a combination of the two. Knobs tend to be less expensive but pulls can have a more dramatic impact.
• Don’t be scared to go bold. Consider cup or bin pulls which are a subtle and unique way to add visual interest that isn’t overly distracting.
• If you have strong vertical or horizontal lines in your cabinetry, or you want a more modern, contemporary, or even transitional look, consider using pulls. Pulls of varying sizes can be a great way to accentuate linear details in your kitchen cabinetry.
